Principal’s Message

Nga mihi mahana ki a tatou | Warm greetings to all

Tēnā koutou katoa,

Nō Te Kopuru au, kei Takiwira au e noho ana. He Tumuaki au i te kura tuatahi o Te Kopuru. Ko Lisa taku ingoa. Tēnā tātou katoa.

My name is Lisa Greville, and I am truly privileged to be the principal of Te Kopuru School. This school holds a special place in my heart, as it is the primary school my brothers and I attended. I have been teaching for 19 years, with most of my experience in Northern Wairoa, including at Dargaville Intermediate School and Dargaville High School. Additionally, I have served as an RTLB and Deputy Principal at Wellsford School. My roles in middle management, as SENCO, and in senior leadership have been instrumental in developing my leadership skills.

I am excited to return home and take up my first principalship. I truly believe that our tamariki need to be at the heart of all our decisions. They should feel a sense of belonging and be engaged, stimulated, and empowered to learn. Our whānau should feel welcome, and the connections between students, school, and parents need to be strong to optimize learning.

I encourage you, as parents and whānau, to get involved. I look forward to working with you to ensure that your child is happy and successful at Te Kopuru School. Let’s work together and strive for excellence for all our tamariki.

“Nā tō rourou, nā taku rourou ka ora ai te iwi.”

“With your food basket and my food basket, the people will thrive.”

Na
Lisa Greville
